Yes it does. A few questions that might help me figure out your problem:

      1. Are you using an official release of Blender downloaded from the blender.org/download page?
      2. What operating system are you on?
      3. Did you watch the install video or read the manual (page 4) on installing, and follow the instructions?

      Install video:
      https://youtu.be/q9bkFai-BaM?list=PLS24VPXMziw2bmTkMdgd0crwU2vYH5Bzu

      manual instructions (see page 4):
      https://blenderforums.org/sensei-format-user-manual/

If you failed to install properly the first time, then you may need to navigate to your Blender settings folder and remove the folder version you are currently using (i.e. 2.77) before trying to install again (the location of these folders differ between operating systems (Mac, Windows etc…) you may have to look up the location for your computer type online before trying to remove the specific folder of your version of Blender’s settings.

The base of it is this; make sure you do not unzip the Sensei Format file after downloading it. The Sensei Format zip file does not (and should not) be placed in any special folder or location (it will be imported automatically when you install it via Blender’s user preferences addons section). Then, open Blender, go to File > User Preferences > Add-ons tab > Press “Install From File” at the bottom of the user preferences window, select Sensei_Format.zip on your computer, then press the “Install From FIle” button in the top right corner of the screen.

Once installed click the box next to where it says “Sensei Format”. You’ll be given the choice to either activate or deactivate Sensei Format right then and there, or you can later activate it by going to File > Sensei Format > and pressing “Activate Sensei”. From then on, Sensei Format can be either activated or deactivated from the same menu. Sensei Format requires shutting Blender down when switching between your default Blender settings and Sensei Format, so make sure you save anything you might be working on before switching.

Installation is not working for me.

First, let’s assume that I know what I’m doing and watched/followed the install video, which I did.

Sensei is acting like it installed but when I “Enable” the addon I get a pop-up saying “UNABLE TO INSTALL SENSEI FORMAT” along with an “OK” button. Upon clicking the OK button, Blender shuts down.

Launch Blender again and open preferences, go to addons and see that Sensei Format is installed/enabled but is listed under the “Missing script files” area of addons.

I have installed other addons and have checked permissions for all the folders involved and I do have permissions to all. I am using a personal computer and am the only one that uses it.

I have also ran Blender as admin with the same results.

      Please disregard my last post.

Found out that if there is more than one Blender version folders Sensei Format will not install properly.
I deleted all but most current and everything is fine now.

“Found out that if there is more than one Blender version folders Sensei Format will not install properly.

I’m not sure what was causing the problem, but unless you were using a really old version of Senesi Format with a previous Blender version, or had previously tried to install Sensei Format without first following instructions and the install failed, then that shouldn’t have been causing the issue. I have to work with multiple version settings folders all the time. When you’re installing Sensei Format for the first time it doesn’t mess with previous version folders (unless those folders contain Sensei Format stuff, in which case it tries to import settings from it). Glad you got it working though.

Yes, the old Blender folder (2.75) contained Sensei Format.

I am using Sensei Format 2.37 and Blender 2.77a.

I had forgot that Sensei Format can update for me. (I must have had “check for updates” unchecked)

      Thanks Sensei!

You’re welcome. In the Sensei Format menu there is an option for “Manual Update”. So you can still leave the auto update feature off, then if you ever need to update Sensei Format just download the latest version from the site, and with Blender open press File > Sensei Format > Manual Update and select the zip file you downloaded. This was create so people who didn’t want to use the auto update feature wouldn’t have to.

As far as new versions of Blender itself goes, you don’t have to do anything special, just download and install and Sensei Format will transfer settings for you once you open the new version of Blender. And concerning Blender bug fix releases, for example 2.77a or 2.77b (or whatever…) nothing special has to be done either to use those, just download and install them and everything will be fine.
