Is there a way to perform edge ring selection with the addon? Ctrl+Alt+Left click doesn’t work so I find myself constantly switching to the Box select tool.

Ctrl+Alt+Left Click initiates lasso transparency selection (Ctrl Left Click initiates regular lasso selection). You can check out a list of the hotkeys in the manual blendersensei.com/docs/power-select I don’t ever use edge ring selection (I use edge loop selection constantly which you can use in Power Select the same way you use with Blender’s regular selection methods). I suppose we could do Alt Double-Click for edge ring selection since Alt Click does edge loop selection already. Edge Ring selection seems to always do to much or not enough of what I want. I’ve never found it very useful. I imagine you must be using it a lot. Maybe I’m under estimating its usefulness. Could you post an image or describe an example of how you use it? Maybe I’m missing something.

Hello. It’s not that I can’t live without it, to be honest, but I thought maybe you weren’t aware that the function was overridden, and that it would be easy to code back into Blender to work like vanilla, which would reduce interference and would make Power Select easier to pick up coming from vanilla (ex: a small timeout where ctrl+alt+clicking does ring selection, while dragging for example initiates lasso selection with transparency).

It’s hard to think of examples right off the bat, but I give two in the following image. I don’t think they are representative of a real-world scenario too much. tbh, I’m still a beginner/a hobbyist when it comes to 3D and I’m still tinkering around to optimize my workflows. I love Power Select (and Power Nodes too!), and it’s as close as it gets to becoming a holistic solution for all selection needs.

P.S: Meshmachin3’s L-Select is amazing, and it would be great to have a similar function in Power Select.

Woah man. Thanks for the details! Those are some good points. I think edge ring select comes in handy if you’re explicitly using edge select mode, otherwise the same hotkeys for performing a loop select while in face selection mode does the same thing but it’s typically more useful if you’re in face select mode because it’s went ahead and selected all the faces (and not just the edges) which you would need them selected if using any editing tools or hotkeys afterwards (extruding, insetting, etc.). Otherwise just having a ring of edges is only good for transforming faces but then you’re gimped on doing anything else except for a few edge cases. But that’s why I added this forum! If more people chime in and agree that they really need this I’ll put in an option or something!
