I’m new to Blender and I’ve made some simple animations (dominos falling over and such). However, I can’t access the output settings in the render menu. They’re simply not there. And Blender tries to save my animation to a location that doesn’t exist. Any tips on how to solve this problem?

Hi. Looks like you’re in Blender Game mode. Different menus will display in the render, scene and render layers tab (and others probably) depending on which mode (or render engine) you’re using. At the top where it says Blender Game if you switch this to Blender Render or Cycles, you’ll see the output menu in the render tab of the properties panel again.

You can set a default render output location at File > User Preferences > (select File tab at top) and clicking on the folder icon next to where it says “Render Output”, then press “Save User Settings” down in the bottom left corner before exiting.

You’re welcome. If you’re into animating dominos and things with moving parts be sure to check out this section of the Crash Course: https://blenderforums.org/animating-physics/

Follow these steps in Blender to modify the output location:

      1. Verify the Properties panel’s Rendering Settings. Make sure the format for “Output” is set to what you want.
      2. Select a trustworthy directory as the output location. To confirm that the directory has the required write permissions, check File Permissions.
      3. Reset preferences by choosing “Edit” and “Preferences.”
      4. To make sure bugs are fixed, update Blender to the most recent version.
      5. To determine if any custom add-ons are to blame, temporarily disable them.
I may suggest thinking about The Web Factory if you have any questions concerning Blender. You can go here if you’re seeking for a Professional Logo Designers.
