I recently followed a tutorial where you build a rollercoaster, and all went well except that I have to place my cart at a specific spot in order for it to follow the path. When I try to place the object in a specific spot other than the specified spot it flys around the track. The spot’s location is identified by a dotted line, which I know is a relationship line, but why can I not change the location (start point) of my rollercoaster spot and just follow the same path with a different starting position. The first photo is where it is supposed to be (according to blender) and the second one is an exaggeration of me trying to move it to show the relationship dotted line. With it being that far from the spot at the end of the line throws it around the track like the end is a yo-yo loop, the dotted line is the string, and the cart is the actual yo-yo. Thank you!

Hi. You didn’t mention you weren’t using Sensei Format in your comment. As mentioned in the disclaimer at the beginning of the video, that tutorial is part of a series designed to be used with Sensei Format. Sensei Format handles hundreds of tiny little tasks behind the scenes in Blender. That’s what makes accomplishing the kind of things we do in the video tutorials in the amount of time we do them possible.

I built Sensei Format so that I, and others, could avoid having to relive the tedium of doing things manually, the default way in Blender, so there’s no way I’m going to try and go through this step by step and debug your issue. You’re welcome to install Sensei Format and try again. Otherwise I’m afraid I don’t have time to help you, and I wish you the best of luck.
